Great dad - daughter deer hunt

Well my 12 year old daughter has been duck and pheasant hunting with me but today was our first deer hunt. Even though we did not harvest one, we saw some deer, coyote, geese and hawks but most importantly a new die hard deer hunter. She did not want to go at the end of shooting time, it did my heart well. We had some great conversations, some laughs and a few snacks thrown in. My buddies talked me and her to "skip" school tomorrow to go out with the boys so please don't tell on us.

Can't tell you how excited and thrilled I am to have her so excited about the outdoors. Looking forard to the days and years to come!!!

Well we enjoyed our day in the ground blind and snow. Saw 4 after it quit snowing, small buck was within 70 yards so it was a thrill for her. Buddy got a doe later and she had all sorts of questions while we were field dressing her. Can you do anything with the hair, whats that, look at the different colors of her hide, etc. kinda neat. And she watched the whole time with no issues, she said if she is going to be a vet someday she has to get used to it.

Going out wed night to see if we can fill the doe tag. Plus she fit right in with teasing my buddy in the truck and at lunch _

Had another great night, saw a buck 5 minutes into the blind, Rattled in a nice 8 point to 70 yards, and got a doe. She is already asking about what kind of rifle she is getting for christmas!
