Default WOW Buck of a Lifetime for me!!

Not much of a story but he is a 9X5 in full velvet. Game and parks quick quessed 180+ inches non typical, we will see when I get it scored. Now I need to find a good taxidermist!!!!!!!!!

we ended up getting a doe and a smaller buck! Wow a deer I will never forget. Lots of work ahead of me now!

Very cool! The only ones that I have ever seen in velvet were small. That is for sure a buck of a life time. You may shoot a bigger one but not one still in velvet. Congrats!

The game and parks guy said something is probably messed up with his hormones and he also said deer that big with all of its velvet still tend to never shed their horns and they just keep growing! First thing he asked was if it had its boy toys (testicals) and it did so who really knows.

I believe they usually call those a "cactus buck". Its all in the hormones. Basically its antlers havent quit growing.

That is an awesome deer for sure! Get ahold of a taxidermist right away. That velvet will start to fall apart.

Usually I read big buck in the title and it doesnt get me going but this one got me jealous for sure. Nice work!

Great Buck Congratulations,
Be sure who ever you take your buck to that they have your antlers freeze dried for this is the BEST way to preserve them.

My brother shot one on Saturday that was in velvet, too. I have not seen it in person yet, but he says that it is 9 x 7 scorable, with extra stickers all over.

Definately worth any price to get it mounted. Check with several different taxidermists to find out how to preserve the velvet/antlers. I found a "shed" in July one time, along a highway that had been knocked off a roadkilled buck. It was a massive 5 point with all the velvet. I kept it in the freezer for 15 months without any covering on it trying to get it to dry out. Within a week of taking it out of the freezer, it was stinking.

Awesome buck! Definitely a trophy of a lifetime. My sister shot a muley Sunday that was also in full velvet. He had his "boys" but they were very small.
