Default Check-in Stations

Does the Lincoln NGPC office check in really close at 8pm. I brought a deer by at quarter after 8 and no one was around and the lights were off. If so that is bull crap. You want me to check in a deer at least be there. I know that its a long day, but the season is only 9 days long.

If they close at 8 and you got there at 8:15, then why is that bull? Do you stick around work 15 minutes after close? If they were there til 8 then they fulfilled their obligation.

I don't care about them staying there after there supposed, I'm mad cause the higher ups decided to close the stations at 8. Give people a chance to get them pulled out, gutted, and get home.

If they would close at 9:00 someone would want to check there deer at 9:15. Go back in the morning and get over it. I get so tired of people complaining on this site.

If your tired of complaining then leave or be more selective when reading topics. We have a right to complain since the NGPC has zero elected leadership.

To be fair to fish2, your post heading did not include the words "rant", "gripe" or any other type of phrase identifying it as a complaint/gripe. The title "Check Stations" led me to believe there was possibly some good information concerning check stations, such as maybe additional ones open for the rifle season or what not. It's hard to be selective about reading rants when they aren't identified as such. Just my $.02

I'd say 8 is plenty late. Kind of suprised they are open that late to tell ya the truth! I have always figured if I shoot one and dont get it out of the field till dark I might as well plan on checking it in the morning.

I think if it says 8AM TO 8PM, then I wouldn't be a whine ***** when I brought a deer in at 8:15. 12 hours is plenty enough time. If you knew you were going to be cutting it close wait until the morning.

I had no clue I was cutting it close, because almost all the permits are online now you no longer get any check in station data.

Check stations are open from 8-8 Opening day till closing of season. So that does include the weekends. Try to remeber NGPC is already understaffed and this is a huge week for COs. Office staff only get paid for 40 hrs and the higher ups do not allow overtime. A lot of the check stations ask for volunteers so they can make it through the week.

I have worked the Alliance Check Station almost every year since I was 10. It has just been tradition since I don't deer hunt. It is an absolute blast!! But you try working 12 hour shifts on weekends then continue that through the week. It makes for long days and the NGPC can only be there so much. If you can't make it there by 8 at night, just come back the next day. I could see complaing if your home town was quite aways from the nearest station, but really? If you live in Lincoln and have a check station or two there, what are you complaining about??

Have a good day!

Hours are 8-8, showed up at 8:15...why wouldn't they be closed? At work we're open from 8-5 and usually at 5 we're closed. I'm not sure why you're so upset about them being closed. I normally make sure on the hours before I've got a deer to check in.

This is America. It's our God given right to complain.

You can't use telecheck for the rifle season.

I will say I was out of line earlier. Check in stations have always been a bit frustrating for me. I do appreciate having my deer aged, it's always interesting to see how old my deer is.

Why have they been frustrating? The hours are posted and it is a simple process to check in when they are open. I don't see how anything can be less frustrating to be honest about it.

Is it frustrating because they don't cater to what/when you want?!
