Default When does hunting season open for this guy?

It's not often a critter walking around in a corn field will make me slam on the brakes, but this was a bit unexpected.

Tastes like BEEF! Too lean and dry for my tastes, however.

the farmer whos land we hunt on had a few get out a couple of years ago and told us to shoot them if we saw them because they are next to impossible to corral since they were so young. so of course we found them and did what the farmer said to do! Emu is a hard target when you try to head shoot them! he no longer raises them!

and i was under the impression that feral cats were a problem, but it looks like they are just the tip of the iceberg, next thing we know it's gonna be feral llamas

I told a couple people at work that I saw an emu off of Highway 92 east of Venice a couple months ago and they just looked at me like I had lost my mind. At least I know I'm not the only one! Pictures say it all.

This could very well be the same bird.

We had seen one a while back running through my parent's farm by 252nd and Q. I figured one of the alleged mountain loins around would have gotten to him by now...

Awesome pic! Thanks for posting - love seeing something unusual like that.

I've eaten emu, too, and it tasted just like beef to me.
