Just to be clear I am in no way associated with this business. I just went and got a price listing from them and figured I would share it with all of you. Being that it is their first year in business I figured I would pass the information along because they are offering some really good deals on prosessing ur deer meat. The below price listing includes pork and beef trim in sausages. The price listing is per pound.
Ring Bologna $2.00 Ground and formed jerky $2.25 Polish Sausage $2.00 Slab jerky $4.25 Cheddar Polish $2.50 Snack sticks $2.25 Polish with hot cheese $2.65 Jalepeno/cheddar sticks $2.75 hot dogs $2.00 Bacon cheddar sticks $3.00 Summer sausage $2.00 Pepper snack sticks $2.50 SS with cheese $2.50 Breakfast sausage $1.25 SS with hot cheese $2.65 Luncheon meat $2.00 deer burger $0.60 $50.00 deposit on all deer meat. 25lbs of deer required per somkehouse item except for slab jerky is only 12lbs. They accept only boneless meat. THERE BIGGEST SELLING POINT IN MY MIND IS: They guarantee the meat you bring in, is the meat you take home. |

I know one of the owners of this place. He's a good guy, and I have no doubt that they will put out a good product. I'm going to play devil's advocate here for a moment though. Do lockers that claim that you get your own deer back really follow through on everything? I can definitely see this as a feasible guarantee on the fresh cuts, but can a locker that processes hundreds of deer during rifle season really stick to this on the processed items. I just can't see how a meat locker can clean out the tub after every deer from an efficiency standpoint so that products can be turned around in a reasonable amount of time. When I took my deer to Diller last year, they had a little disclaimer on a sheet that they gave me. They kind of said the same thing. They said for their processed items they will do a big batch, but they did say that they are very picky about what's accepted. If it's second rate or shady in any way they don't use it. I respect that. I guess you just hope that they are honest. It's kind of like taking your car to a mechanic. You really trust that they do what they say they're doing.

You bring up a good point Big Bo. I was very leary with going to Diller the first time because I previously went to a place that "guaranteed" you would get your own deer back. However, everything I have had from Diller has been awesome and I have been going there for about 5 years now. I also have several buddies that go there and have never had a complaint. They have been in business for quite a while and have built a very good buisness out of it. There is no way in hell they would ever accept questionnable deer meat and risk making a bad product or making people sick. That is one sure fire way of getting the doors closed on your opperation. I don't worry about it one bit anymore. Heck I am more worried about going to McDonalds and eating rotten old killer cow meat from Austrailia with spit from the teenager cooking it.

Well yes thats Roman's still. Wendell still works there. They just closed down the big plant with the slaughterhouse because of high energy costs.
Still same great work and recipes.
