I heard yesterday that nationwide the corn harvest is at 25%. Normally for this time of year, it would be 71% !!! Yikes!!

Today I had lunch with our daughter at her elementary school. The dad of one her classmates was also there. As we talked he said he and family were going non-stop to get their beans and corn out by the end of this weekend. As he said "corn that's a little wet pays a lot more than corn standing in the fields."

On the way back from hunting yesterday I saw 8 combines hitting it hard, I think by the end of the weekend we'll be seeing a lot of empty fields.

Going hard in the south-central part of the state also. One big hold up now is the grain elevators. You will see a big difference by the weekend

Starting to go good here in central NE the last couple days. Hopefully the weather holds up and we can get some crops out.

Though I'd prefer there be crops in for rifle season to help some of those younger bucks make it through.

They're hitting the fields hard here in the Eagle area. However as hard as they are hitting them, they still have a long way to go.

My hunting partner got off early and ran up and got into one of my stand and saw 3 deer . . . . . . then he was run over by a mess of farming equipment!

He called me from the stand questioning if he should stay in the stand and see if something kicks up. It is a pretty small wooded spot so nothing did and he got down by 4 PM and just went home.

I saw many bean fields getting harvested but very little corn. I know my corn on the back side of my CRP site is still up.

Was out around Lincoln scouting geese yesterday afternoon and pretty much every field from Lincoln on out of town had harvesting going on in them... both beans and corn!

20% is about the same here. For some reason the combines seem to have stopped over the last day and a half. With rain in forecast starting Monday night through Wednesday one would think they would do everything it takes to get the crops out.

probably don't have anywhere to go with wet corn. You can only dry as much as your bins can hold.

Most of the corn around the Syracue/Otoe County area is dry enough now, 15 to 16. Farmers were hitting it hard this weekend, 2 hour waits at the elevators. Saw lots of corn coming out and lots of deer getting moved around. Watched two nice bucks at my hunting spot last night. Cant wait for Saturday.

Went to a friends house to watch the huskers last night at Johnson lake, and after the game on the way home there was a half a dozen combines working in fields at 11 o'clock, couple of them were still doing soybeans.

The corn on the land where we hunt SE of Avoca is still. Hopefully the farmer will get it harvested before this Saturday.

All we can do is remain optimistic and keep our fingers crossed

Earlier today I took drive out to our land SE of Avoca and saw a lot of harvested corn fields and combines in other fields. That was the good sign. The bad sign is our land is still of corn without a combine insight.

We're still hopful the farmer gets to it this week and before this Saturday. Three and a half days is more than enough time for them to get in and get the corn out.

I'm amazed at how much corn is out since Sunday.

It's clear that since this past weekend the farmers in the Avoca area have been busting their humps.

An easy way to tell is the 2 hour wait at the elevator in town
