Nice job Dinger!!!! Hope to get my first bow deer this year. Been a little bit picky and been passing up some does and small bucks but it is getting time to fling an arrow!

Brian40:
I've had some chances at some smaller does and a spike buck. I told myself lastnight that if I get a shot I'm going to take it. I'm on semi public land so i figured I'd put some meat in the freezer. I'll work for a bigger buck later. My 6 year old daughter loves deer steak.

Yep, that's about how I have been this year. Passed on some early, but it is time to shoot the next time I get a shot!

Want to be done before rifle season!

Good job!

Way to go dinger, how far was the shot? how far did it go? how badly were you shaking? My first looked a lot like yours.

Stumbled upon this rub/scrape line the other day. I counted 7 or 8 rubs that looked like this one.

The funny this is that I was in my brother's stand. He called me and asked me to bring my climber cuz he saw a few good bucks walk the trail about 60yds behind him. So he was in the climber and I was in his stand. I've never been in his stand before so I spent a whole lot of time trying to figure out distance points useing my best guess. I got in the stand about 1:45pm and saw nothing all afternoon. Around 5:50pm I did some calling using a doe bleat. A little after 6pm I looked behind my left shoulder and saw this guy about 50yrds out. He turned and started walking my way. That's about the time my heart started pounding. He would take a few steps, stop and look up in my direction. We went back and forth like this for about 10min. Everytime he looked down I would make another move with my bow. He then turned and angled behind some brush. I thought I wasn't going to get a shot but it would be the perfect time to draw my bow if I did get one. About a minute later he came out into the open and bent down to smell a scrape. By this time I could feel my heart thumping in my throat, and I was shaking so bad I thought I was going to fall over. But I can't remember if I was sitting down or standing up! I took the shot around 6:15pm or so. I heard the arrow hit something but I honestly thought I was short. I thought I hit a stump. He went about 15yds, stopped and looked at me, then walked into darkness. My bro txted me and asked if I took a shot. "Yes I did but I think I missed". I had my 30yrd pin a bit high cuz I was thinking he was about 35yds. I got down from the stand to check the arrow. It was on the ground about 3' past where he was standing covered in blood. I went to get my bro. He was pissed but yet happy for me. We went back to where the arrow was to find a blood trail, we couldn't find it. I told my bro where I last saw him. He said stay here and I'll go look. About 2 minutes later he called for me. Found him about 15yds from where I last saw him. He went a total of about 40 or 50yds.

BPBowhunter,

Looks like you better get your trail camera set up on that line. Wouldn't hurt to put a stand nearby also. Good Luck!

Best I could do. It's pixelated but you can see the rack at least now.
