Well I just got back home for the evening from hunting. I have been hunting hard since the opener. The only day I couldn't get out was Tuesday. The deer are starting to pick back up chasing again, it was very nice to see. I have had the big guy come by three times. can't quite get him to step out. This morning he was about 5 yards from being dead. Oh well there is tomorrow.

We got our buddies 14 year old daughter her first deer tonight. It was pretty sweet. I think all the guys were more excited about it than she was. She shot a nice mature doe at 103 yards. The best thing about it was, it dropped dead in it's tracks. The first deer couldn't have went any better. When asked what she thought of the whole thing she said "This is pretty cool, Dad we should go bowhunting sometime!"

Nice work Chuck.

I got that text from you though and I thought you had shot that 28 pointer? That thing was nice! I even showed it to my wife. She believed you did as well.

Your such a kidder! haha

Punched my bonus tag this evening. No pictures just a 50 lb (field dressed) Young of the Year. (Sounds better than fawn)

Got this guy on Sunday afternoon at about 2:15, 80 yards and stopped him in his tracks!
What do you think he'll score, I scored him at 144 but have never done it before?

that sounds pretty realistic. real nice width, probably decent beam length and average tines on a 10, he's easily 140

Didn't have time to browse all the previous posts in this thread, so forgive me if its already been posted.

Very nice fish66.

I had a nice last weekend where I shot a buck and doe.

got him friday evening, 200+ yard shot and im thinking my scope is off seeing how i was aiming for the vital and by some miracle got him in the head, the pressure from the bullet popped his eye out. i wish i could hit them in the head more often, so i know they wont run and easier to clean. 4x4 but the g3 in broken off a bit on the side where the eye is popping out

CatfishCam,
I had that same problem once with a scoped rifle. My deer is hanging on the wall now. In one eye and out the other.....pure marksmanship. The landowner kept telling all the locals about that's where I planned to shoot him so I didn't ruin the meat and they kept coming over all that weekend to see the thing.

This is the buck I shot during the firearm season. Any guess as to what he'd score and how old he is? I haven't had a chance to look at his teeth to get an age.

Here is a trail cam pick of him back in October. He's got 13 points (6x7). I think he's a main frame 4x4 with some extra tines.

Nice buck, lots of character. Does he have some velvet on HIS left side or does it just appear that way in the picture?
