Tried running some mad traffic on a few specks this PM because we couldn't quite get on the poop. Almost paid off, but it was a lot of work. One short of a 2-man, all Juvies, not one bar in the bunch. My throat is about shot from calling all afternoon. Rest and full report tomorrow. Watched thousands of migrating snows BOMB the mass of specks all afternoon from above the clouds.

Every time I get onto a good speck opportunity, I am thinking it is going to be a cake-walk limit. And about every time my stuff gets tossed. If you think snows will pick you apart, try hunting specks. Thank god that they are only here and there in Nebraska; If I lived in KS or farther south, I would probably pull my hair out chasing these things.

Saw a few bunches of snows on the ground around the Henderson - York areas with more in the air.

Hunting deer by wilber today and saw 2 large flocks of snows in the corn and one gigantic flock, at least a mile or so long, of snows heading south. A few flocks of ducks seen as well. Looked like it should have been a good day in the basins.

Fields loaded with snows last evening and this a.m. on one of our deer spots on the Kansas/Nebraska border during the snow storm last night and this morning. Power is knocked out still down there but the geese were in the corn bigtime!

I was rewatching the Bo Pelini show tonight and at the end of the game review you could clearly discern a flock of squeekers or snows flying over head during the interview. Sharp and Bo are doing the show in the endzone after the KU game and you can hear the geese right after the review of the last play and before they get player interviews.

What's wierd is I fell asleep on Sunday during the original broadcast and remember jumping up and looking out the window for what I thought was a flock migrating over the house at midnight.

If you have it DVR'd, check it out.

I guess we get our indications of migration from strange places.

Headed up to sherman this weekend to my cabin, anyone seen any ducks up that way? Was up there last weekend and on opening pheasant and hardly saw any ducks on the lake at all.

No, I haven't yet. I have the boat all painted and i never got around to getting a blind on it yet but i definitely plan on putting one on for next season, it would work perfect for up at sherman.

Hunted the Platte again on Saturday, pretty lousy... We seen one bunch of teal dive bomb us while settin out the decoys, and then two singles and that was it. There are just no ducks using the river right now. Cant wait for the next couple days though, I might even take Wedn morning off. Looks like a pretty good push might be in order for mid week, hard NW winds a couple days in row and chance of snow in the dakotas. You'd think this late in the year, it wouldnt take much to get some moving down. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Good hunt Saturday, two of us had 4 greenheads and 6 Greenwings... Hunted sunday, saw some small groups of greenheads again and more greenwings... A couple Wigeon and Gadwall assorted in flyers but we ended with only Greenheads and Greenwings...

Pics from Saturday, No Ducks Sunday...

Nice bag Ruffwater.

Tell me....... did you actually pick out the drake teal?

It seems to me that every year we have a day about first part of Nov that we shoot drake greenwanger teal and thats about all the flocks consist of. Really nice plumed out ones as well. Kinda odd.
