Hunted the sandhills the last four days. Wanted to get away from all the pressure. We didn't have the #'s like they have in the basin but we shot plenty of birds. All the birds we seen worked very well. Averaged almost 30 per day with 7 guys in two boats on two different spots. Lots of fun.

Hunted LPL opener and shot a limit of mallards and we each got our pintail. Our only competition was the hundreds of other live birds that kept landing on the other side of the marsh. Could have filled the truck up with pintails they were using our marsh by the hundreds.

I used to have this mindset...can get you burned real quick...just a word of advice,be very careful who you hunt with because it could be a ticket waiting to happen, or even worse a fine and loss of hunting priveleges... I know first hand. However, I do like to think that most hunters are good people...Do unto others is how it should be in my opinion.

I hunted a spot yesterday morning between Lincoln and York with my father and BoB25, We ended up with 5 birds on the day, 2 pins, 1 greenwing, and 2 bootlip hollywoods. Should have had many more but we were not shooting very straight I suppose. Pics to come...

last year the river came up and blinds and decoy boats were floating down river. hate to see it happen again, we don't put our stuff out until the geese get here.

Back to a 'report': was up North along the MO River earlier this week and didn't see anything to make another trip yet. The marsh/river did have some smaller ducks but nothing worth staying past 9:30am. Unsure how true it is but heard that the river is going to be UP for a while this year due to the 'plovers bars' they are making or some b.s. Time will tell when they drop the river.

Well then, pardon me if I try to get this thread back on track. Had lots of fun and shot lots of ducks this weekend and didn't have any trash around my truck when I got done, so that was good... Even though I had one buddy go spoonbill happy on Sunday, we still ended it with a 4 man. Real nice mixed bag of mallards, gwt, wigeon, and of course the smileys. This was at the marsh on Sunday, and on Saturday we hunted on the river. Didn't shoot as many as we should have, but it was a good time and lots of scenery. Can't wait til things really start to heat up.

I noticed them today at work. They were all over in/out side of Stratcom. They must have got in the ventilation system.

Got em all over the outsides of my windows on my house, and several in the light fixtures inside. Usually an indication of an early winter! Lets hope so.

Can we get back to waterfowl reports...this thread is starting to resemble the crap in the fishing forum! Went out this weekend saturday and sunday, we shot green wings on saturday and had several flocks of large ducks circling our dekes called off by another group (that is a whole different discussion). Sunday we got our 4 pintails and one widgeon and that was all we could shoot at...we had to watch 4 other flocks of pintails come in and land in our decoys. Not much for birds numbers around from what we saw this weekend.

Default weekend woodys

I should've posted this here...

shot 10 woodys over the past weekend with three guys. The birds were done moving by sunrise both days.

Lots of canadas and little ducks sitting on the lakes around Columbus. This coming weekend could be pretty decent

Heres a sandhills pic with some of the guys after one of our hunts. There are Mallards, Redheads, Pintails, Buffleheads, Gadwalls, Widgeon, Ringnecks, Wood Ducks, Green Wings, and Canadas in this pic. It was a nice mixed bag.
