Colorado's Big Game draw deadline is approaching fast...4/7
If Non Residents want to apply, they can do it all online, with the exception of Goat, Sheep and Moose. If you want to apply for those species, a nonresident must mail in their applications and have them postmarked by 4/7/09. If you have any drawing questions, feel free to fire away.

Just put my apps in yesterday.
My 4th year for putting in for sheep, so that means my first potential year of getting drawn!!! I am hoping with the economy down people will be less likely to shell out the $1800 odd dollars for the tag improving my chances I was told Wyoming applications were down 30% this year, don't know if there is any truth to that, but I am sure this economy will effect the "coasters" from coming into hunt. If, IF, god willing I get drawn for a sheep tag I will dance a jig. I've been dreaming of that since I was about 12. Simply put in for pref. points for mulies and elk. |

Yes, I have also heard that WY elk draw apps were down. I put my daughter in with max points but she came up empty on her draw. This could be your year for a Colorado sheep tag, pray for a low number. I had a friend who drew both his sheep and goat tags with 3 points and no weighted. My wife, daughter and I are all applying for goat, sheep and moose. We each have at least 3 points and my wife and I have 2-3 weighted.

Hiker,
I am sure you already know this but I have been told it is actually easier for a non-rez to get a sheep tag in CO than a resident, because so few non-rez's are willing to write a $1800 check every year just to get their preference point. |

$1800 is a lot of money, especially with todays economy. Here's a link to the draw odds.... http://wildlife.state.co.us/NR/rdonl...ntingRecap.pdf
