Default A day on the river.....

a public river that is, in the 60 degree not a breath of wind weather. Started the morning with wave after wave of mallards and other big ducks going right over us to go feed. Had one flock of Geese that wanted a closer look at the spread, but never committed, but after they were gone the duck huniting got interesting. Birds were seemingly materializing from thin air, and dropping in low enough we could have limited out by simply hitting them with the gun barrels. It was the first time every that every bird in every group finished and decoyed PERFECTLY. Ended up with 5 greenheads and a wigeon, Tc ended up with a mixed bag of 2 greenheads, a suzie, and 3 wigeon hens....but how we both filled bird #6 was awesome. I a hen wigeon, him a QUADRUPLE CURL greenhead, and it was the most beautiful bird I have ever seen. His last duck makes up for some of the brown in his bag of birds. Hopefully I can get away from the relatives on saturday morning and hit up that spot again.
He will have pics up soon I think, but here is my limit....

Thinking about the weather on yesterdays hunt a question came to mind.

Has anyone ever had a phenomenal day waterfowling, when it is 60 degrees out, sunny, and not a breath of wind? The conditions seemed less than favorable for waterfowl...

You will never know unless you are out there.
