Anyone know of a good site to look up South Dakota public hunting land for bird hunting. I checked out the SD game and parks site but couldn't get the map to work for me
Thanks |

If you go to South Dakota Fish and Game's website you can actually request a hard copy of thier Hunting Atlas. I'm not sure how quickly you need to see the map, but I put in the request a couple days before opening weekend (we had private ground to hunt for our first hunt) and I got my copy in the mail about a week and a half later. I don't know about you, but I usually don't have a computer with me when I'm hunting, so I like to have a copy in the pickup with me in case plans change.
the link should take you right to the information request page Wildlife Division Information Requests |

I would recommend heading to the area between Mitchell and Chamberlin. Once you get up there just swing by the local Wal-Mart and pick up a CRP map.

or, you may want to give this another shot, it takes a long time to load. An then even longer every time you attempt to add a layer. Good luck.

Thanks guys, I did find what I was looking for, it's the public land atlas that shows the whole state then you can click on a county and see the tracks of land that is open to the public. Thanks again for the info.
