Hey folks,
Anybody observed any areas around Omaha/Lincoln area that are high in rabbit numbers? I have a beagle that loves to hunt them but so far I haven't run into many. A week or so ago I was out at 2 Rivers but ran into more deer than anything else. Saturday I'm going to hit William Gilmour and then after Rifle season I may drive down to Branched Oak, these areas in the past seemed to have fair rabbit numbers, but if anybody knows where I can find a bunch for sure I'd love to know about it. Also if anybody on here hunts bunnies with hounds I am also looking to join up with another beagler some Saturday morning. My pup is about 15 months old and seems well started, but he could use a little help. Thanks yall! |

wait til ya get some cold temps. and snow on the ground. If I knew someone that wanted the rabbits,I'd probably get into hunting them again..total blast. Don't overlook CRP fields.Tons of bunnies out there.

I was going to William Gilmour this Saturday...that's the part of the WMA that is on the other side of the channel from Tobacco Island. From what I've heard the channel is chock full right now and waders aren't even an option. Come late winter when there's some thick ice I certainly will be hunting rabbits on the island. I've killed a few deer out there too but man, talk about a drag...
