If you are goign to be in Loomis, then you might be in good shape. I hunted south of Axtell a couple of weeks ago and quickly shot a limit of ducks on a private basin. There is alot of water down there from the recent rains so that isnt a problem . . . you just will have a bunch more spots for the birds to go so you will have to do a little driving to get things dialed in if you are hunting some of the public ground around there. Looked like there were lots of ducks in the area when I was there though

I know there's plenty of water, but I mainly pheasant hunt and don't do much waterfowling, so I'm not much help.

Default well.....

Well.....Got back last night from our hunt out west. We ended up hunting around Axtell and Loomis area. Man there are TONS of birds around that way. Didnt see much geese, maybe 2 groups that wanted nothing to do with us. We ended up with a 3 man limmit in about 2hours. We were even hunting on a public marsh. Didnt here not 1 person call all weekend, i believe i was the only one. We had a group of about 30 to 40 mallard just sit on top of us, that was one of the coolest moments of the trip.

We did have Lots of teal we seen but only very few other ducks. Couple reds and wids, but all in all, It was a very fun hunt. Got to spend time with the boys and get away for a couple days. Nothing better than sitting in a underground blind at 4am sippin on coffee....!!!! Will try and get the pics back from my buddie and get them posted...good luck hunting and be safe out there!
