Do you guys think the wind will be blowing hard enough to curb the deer movement this week.

If it's really windy make sure your scopes are turned down low and get up to still hunt. That is if you are on private ground. If you see people still hunting and/ or doing drives, sit still and wait for them to push deer your way. Don't forget to dress warm.

Even if it is windy, they may come out at dusk to feed.

As for the winds, it could slow down deer movement a little in open areas. but with the cold temps on the way, I dont think anything is going to stop the bucks from cruising looking for hot does, especially in wooded areas. Starting tomorrow with the cold front, the bucks are going to be running crazy all thru next week and into rifle season. I will be looking for bucks cruising the down wind side of fingers, and fields checking for does. Thank god for this cold weather. I was afraid of warm temps, but those fears have been put to rest.

Wow guys, I really want to get out for ducks but with this being the last days of bowhunting until all the big bucks get killed I think im going to hit the woods. Those bucks will be plain retarded.

I just want this to push more canadas into here. Load em up because Im going to load up on shells.

I decided to spend saturday in the dekes. Deer hunt the rest of the weekend. Hopefully I'm not kicking myself for that one.

Decisions decisions. I think bowhunt friday night, the majority of saturday, and then maybe make it out waterfowl hunting on sunday morning.

Is there some incorrect information at the G&P web site?

Nebraska Game and Parks Commission - Big Game Hunting Guide - Whitetail and Mule Deer

Good call. It says bowhunting runs up til the 14th and firearm starts the 15th.....

Anyone got this mixed up?

I'm not a rifle hunter, so I didn't pay attention.

Pretty sure rifle opens the 15th. Ill be in the stand every day until then starting this saturday morning, unless a bruiser decides to come by before then.

If everything forecasted happens from a water fowling perspective what would be better?

Is a good cold snap in the Dakotas better than a full out blizzard?

I'm pretty sure of that too but there are posts up thread that allude to it being this weekend -- unless we have archers using scopes or the last weekend of archery is typically when "all the big bucks get killed".
