Default Places to eat

Last year during hunting season there was a thread about places to eat when hunting. I have lost my copy that I made. Maybe we can start a new thread because everyone likes to try new places

I will be the first to respond, this was not posted up last year. In Bertrand there is a place called Flipping swiss (I think) right on the west side of Main st. Easily the best burger I have ever had on a hunting trip.

If you are ever "out west" or just happen to be by Burwell i would strongly reccommend going to The Pizza Palace, they have the best pizza ever!!! Or if you go further west, like Ogallala go to Pro Kops, its a bbq joint that is amazing....

For all the basin hunters there is a place in McCool Junction on the main street that has the best prime rib and steaks. I can not think of the name of it.

I haven't been there lately, but ownership has changed and I know several people that said they wouldn't go back. On the same line the Granary in Norfolk has their old crew back and the food is top notch again and pretty cheap.

I think you might mean the lunchbox in Orchard? Unless Royal has one I don't know of?

True that! It's good to have the old Granary back!

Kerry's, very good place to eat. Prime rib melt is the best sandwich on the menu.

I second the Bob's bar in Martinsberg. Burgers the size of your plate and fries and cheeseballs stacked so high they barely fit on a plate.

Bob's Bar in Martinsburg is the best!!!! Yeah so what if they've been closed down about 10 times in the last 5 years due to sanitization problems, where else are you going to get 2 lbs of cheese balls and a 2lb burger for 8 bucks!?

South of Geneva afew miles in the HUGE town of Strang is "Bubbas". Very nice little spot to eat, really is out of place in that small town. Think its Wed night is thier wings night, good stuff, kinda catches guys off guard when they just dump a bucket of wings on the table instead of using a plate. Try it, I guarentee you will go back for more.

The other place is in Milligan, pretty sure its called "evening with friends". The food is OUTSTANDING, best steaks and prime rib I have ever had. Heard rumor from several that it was voted as one of the best places for a steak in Nebraska, or midwest...I dont know. Dont matter how good the food is though, I kinda have this thing with eating at a place called "evening with friends", kinda half expect to be seated next to "Jimmy and Steven" if you know what I mean. So I only made the 10-15 mile drive from Geneva a dozen times or so in the past 4 years.

There was a place in Geneva that I ate at almost nightly that served up a pretty decent ribeye baked tater combo. They closed down this summer so I dont know what the heck Im gonna do for food unless I make the drive to Strang or the gay named place in Milligan or just plan on eating Subway and Pizza Hut every night.
