Default 1 more year

I figure one more year, maybe two and one of these is going on the wall. Not sure where they came from because I had my cameras out since june and only got a couple good pics. These guys just showed up this last week.

And this was from last week.

He's a nice buck today but next year he'll be a dandy.

Thats the magic of the rut kicking in..You'll start to see bucks that you never knew existed..Id probably give those a year or two, but nice bucks all around and they definitely have some potential!

The deer in the last two pictures would be dang hard for me to pass up if they walked under one of my tree stands....

I did that last year on a pretty nice 5x5 that I probably should have shot after I thought about it...Haven't seen the buck yet this year, but Ive heard plenty of success stories were guys will pass a buck and then shoot it the next year...I always have that "what if he makes" thought cross my mind...So don't be too hard on yourself, at least not until you see it dead in the back of someones pickup truck

Well last year I passed up a buck that was probably a 130. One more year was all I asked. He walked over the hill and I had a good feeling. Then I heard "BOOM!". I knew instantly what happened. The guy shot it and I told him I passed it up and he couldnt believe it. Pretty sad. That deer's head just sat in his shed and rotted away all year. No point in shooting those type of horns unless they are mounted. Only way I let it slide is if a kid shoots it. Then I love it. Those kids feel so good. This year one turned 16 though and I had a talk with him about letting em live. We will see how that goes.
