Hopefully I get some better pics of this deer, but it's one from our ground up north this year. I had this same deer 20 yards during bow season unable to draw on him. Took a 140ish (can't remember exact) out of this same stand last year.

Nice deer guys!

I shot a 4x4 mulie tonight. Didn't have alot of time to judge him, but it would have been a hard choice on to pass or not, I don't know what I would have done if I had a couple minutes to look him over. I'm still real happy him, and I know i'll have some good meat for the freezer. I'll be looking for a doe with my bow after rifle closes down.

The neck on that buck was huge, all swelled up from the rut. It looked like he had been doin some fighting too, he had a bunch of scars on him, and one pretty good sized one below his right eye.

I've heard of quite a few nice bucks being taken this week...With that being said I think muzzleloading is just going to be phenomial this year with all the remaining corn in. The rifle hunters at one of my properties aren't doing so hot with the corn in, and we know theres some bruisers running around there. A lot of the big bucks are still locked up on does to.

Anyways on saturday morning my best friend Jack took our handicapped neighborhood boy out to try to find him a buck. Jack's done this for two years without pay or any incentives, he just simply wants to help out another kid and get him interested in hunting. Well saturday morning rolls around and Jack has to get up extra early. Porter is diagnosed with spina bifida and is recently having trouble walking, so Jack transported Porter to the stand with one of those deer carts. It was over 400 yards to the stand in a very soggy field, so you can imagine the workout. Well 800 o'clock rolls around and Jack decides to hit the rattling antlers. 5 bucks come straight into the stand, Porter takes his time and nails his first buck at a little over 100 yards. It was a very symetical nice 5x5...This was all on video! What a first buck for Porter.

Porter's Buck

Some Other Pics-I don't personally know this guy, but this was shot next door to where my sister was hunting on sunday. What a beast.

My roommate's friend took this on my roommates land out in the sandhills saturday morning.

Hope they save some for the bowhunt and muzzleload hunters!!!!!

huskerbowhunter, your buddy Jack sounds like one heckuva good guy. That was a wonderful thing for him to do. I'm sure that both he and Porter have a memory that will never be forgotten. Shake Jack's hand for me and tell Porter Congratulations.

shot this guy day before rifle opener, watched him fend off four or five bucks from a hot doe, finally a little buck nudged the doe right into my grasp the buck followed close. Put an arrow in him at 10 yds.
