I had 2 bowhunters that left yesterday after hunting a week. It was tough with only the occasional 2 yr. old messing with a doe. Of course the day after they leave things get better. I saw three different mature deer serious with does this morning including a giant 4x4. These are the first good deer I have seen focused and I am around them every day. Good luck to everyone.

Saw several brand new, and very well used scrapes, last night that weren't there on Sunday and the deer trails look like they are getting a workout. Things really seem to have picked up in the last few days.

Ty- Are you getting itchy to try out that 2,000,000 candlelight spotlight or what? I always thought you wanted to see the deer moving during daylight.

Its hard to pull a bow back and hold that spotlight.

Seriously I went out yesterday morning for just a few hours and didnt see a lot of movement out of my stand. Before I left I slowly walked back to my new trail cam area and ran into 2 bucks. Both I never got to see totally but were grunting and thrashing that area up. I got behind a tree and grunted back at them and one came running. I never got a look at him but he eventually took off.

On my trailcam since Sunday evening I had 35 new pics on it. Was excited to check them but forgot the camera! So took the card with me and had tons of movement on there with a couple nicer 5x5s that one is probably they one I passed up earler on Sunday. I know that big boy is in there.

Well needed a ground blind so went to Cabelas and got me a Primos Vision blind, a 5.0 Moultrie trail cam with the biult in screen viewer, new bibs, and a removable quiver for my bow!

I know where im putting that ground blind. Might head back tommorow and set it up in a good ambush point. Gotta get all my cams working again too.

Good luck everyone........... I got a feeling its going to just get better as every day rolls on. Im stoked!

Bring it on!

Im ready now!

Was close on a big fat doe tonight. If she woulda stood still just a few seconds longer she would have been toast.

I was face to face with a 130" sized buck Wednesday morning. 20 yards and looking right at me, couldn't draw. We had a 15 minute stare down and then he trotted off (seemed like hours). Very wide deer. Seen 10 deer wed morning. 2 doe that night and 4 doe thurs morning. Got down out of the stand twice only to see deer and climb back up. Finally got out about 11am and went to check out some spots for scrapes/rubs. Walked 2ft by a doe and it tried to take off and scared me half to death. It's back end was all busted up, more than likely from a vehicle. So I did shoot a doe on Wednesday, unfortunently it wasn't very enjoyable. Put her out of her misery and let her lie for the yotes.

After hunting my riverbottom stand and not seeing a single deer all night, I had to take a long quarter to half mile walk back to my car on the cornfield edge. Well about half way back a rustling in corn turns to an explosion..I figured I just jumped a deer and it was on its way away from me...Turns out just 5-10 rows in two bucks had met each other for a fight only yards from me...After the initial noise, I figured I was going to get ran over...I hear these two bucks snort wheeze followed by a series of buck grunts and one of them even pulled a buck growl out...Then they get in an all out fight and there was some serious rattling going on...After a couple minutes of serious fighting, one of the bucks leaves all PO'ed thrashing the corn stalks as he walks away. I thought that was pretty cool...Well then I get to where the corn ends and a beanfield begins and there was another massive buck (160+ from what I could tell, it was getting real dark.) He procedes to chase a few does and scare off another buck...After watching a few minutes of this, I slip out of the area undetected...Its safe to say I will have no problems getting up for tommorow mornings hunt.

Had a tiny buck come right under my stand this morning. Turned him to me with the can doe bleet. Practiced drawing on him and let him go. Saw 6 coyotes wrestling around too. Looks like a strong south wind tomorrow.

Hunted this morning. Got screwed by the wind again about 5 minutes after legal. Left the blind and went to scout. Saw some does, and really big buck. From what I could tell he was at least 130 if not more.

November has really snuck up on me. I didn't prepare well enough in the off-season, now I'm scrambling to hang stands, build blinds, and scout. That very well maybe the downfall of this season.

Just gained permission on the land I saw the big buck on. I watched him go to his bedding area and bed down, so hopefully I'll get a crack at him. I'm going back in this afternoon to put up the double bull.

here's the buck I ended up rattling under my stand and passing on Halloween. he's a nice buck, but not really any different than a couple of the bucks ive shot before, so I let him walk. He had nice tall matching brows when I left him Friday night, but he ended up coming back past the camera later that evening and had actually knocked off his right one. Definetely in fight mode. He was all pissy. Im still holding out for that nice big 5x5 or better....hopefully this guy makes it through rifle now...he'd be a real stud next year.

sat on the ground tonight due to a lot of combining going on around my stands and saw another GIANT. I think in the last week ive seen at least 4 deer over 150. this guy had a mainframe 6x6 and was pretty tall and about 19" wide. saw him at about 100 yds and made it within 40 yards of him, but had a bunch of brush between me and him and never got a shot off before he walked away. young bucks were chasing HARD CORE tonight. all over the place with their mouths almost on the ground. could have shot 3 that were cruising/running around. they had no clue what was going on.

This morning I had total of five deer come by the stand. All five were bucks. The first buck was a tall narrow dark horned white tipped buck, real cool looking, so close I could hear him sniffing the ground. Then some bird hunters beautifully pushed two good bucks, guessed them at 120-130"ers, followed by two dinker bucks. Was hard to let them all walk, but Ive got my mind set on a stud. Good morning in the woods, these next two weeks are looking good with a cool down on the way. Took next week off work, to hopefully get it done.

Had a young buck chasing a doe run with in 5 yards of me and never knew I was there. That was pretty cool. Saw a couple other does, and had one stand out and feed broadside in front of me at 10 yards for about 5 minutes. It was really tempting, but with it being a school night I didn't want to have to deal with gutting and cutting up a deer.

I'm headin' back out tomorow night after school, hopefully I'll see that big buck I saw this morning.

Just got back from some coon hunting and wow were the bucks chasing hard tonight. We would setup to call and have the caller run 15 minutes then turn it on. There would be a buck and some does and they didnt even care. In fact got video on my phone of a buck that was probably 30 yards from us and I was bleating at it.

Staying home tommorow to get some stuff done then Tues Im hunting all day. Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon morning of next week will be when my brute goes down im hoping.
