Default Weekend Doves

TC and I made the trek west from lincoln this weekend since there was no football game, and went after the doves. Saturday afternoon we shot a few but didnt get pics due to time restraints. Sunday we started the morning by going after some pidgeons, we got 3. TC shot one and killed it, and cleaned it all in one shot.(middle in pic).

Due to the fact that there was not many doves in the area, and also because of poor shooting we only managed 4 on sunday, but got 2 grouse.

It was a fun weekend to go out though, and only a few more weeks till waterfowl season

Wind. That was the reason. Plenty of doves, just not enough aiming on our part.

Fishman34,

I see you were home for the weekend. Glad to see you were able to come back and get some hunting in. Is that a new pup that I see?

we were hunting in one of my grandpa's pastures. the past few years have been really good and the grouse populations have grown quite a bit. my family owns land north of Weissert with some Canyons.

these were right at the south cattle guard where you turn and go to your dads pasture. they aren't very spooky so you can probably sneak up on a few pretty easy.
