Went and hunted my new piece of property this morning. The landowner asked me to shoot some does so that was the plan. At around 7:30 i spotted a big doe and 2 fawns to the north heading my way. They were moving the wrong way and very close to downwind so i was hoping they wouldn't wind me. As they slowly worked their way toward me following a trail that would put them at 28 yards, i readied myself for the shot. I drew, stopped her in my shooting lane and let her have it. The arrow flew perfect disappearing behind her shoulder. If she would have ran another 5 yards along the trail she was using i would have gotten a pic of her on my trail cam but instead she went behind it crashing through all sorts of stuff. She found her way to a brush pile and shortly thereafter she was done. Went probably 40-50 yards. Ended up getting both lungs and making a large slice through the heart. (Now if i only could have done this last week) Believe it or not the buck that i lost last week dumped twice as much blood as this doe. That makes 4 does so far.

Doe #6 for the year. She was just a yearling but after days upon days of not seeing one deer or any fresh sign she was a welcome sight with just a few days left in the season. First one this year with the muzzleloader. Rest were all with my bow.
