Entries - Any deer legally harvested on a NE hunting license from any 2008 NE deer season may be entered into the Buck Bash. Only the hunter who harvests the deer may enter it into the Buck Bash. Each division will have it's own entry thread as deer season rolls along. There will be a different control item for you to print out and use with your entry in each division. The thread will open for entries 24 hours after the season opens and close for entries 48 hours after the season closes. In order to enter this contest, a hunter must register as a NEFGA forum member. This contest is FREE to enter.

Divisions - Archery, Youth, Rifle, Muzzleloader and Conservation

Any deer can be entered in only one division with the exception of the conservation division. Any deer from any other division may be entered into the Conservation division within the rules of the conservation division. You may enter more than one deer in each division. You may enter more than one dilvision. Youth may enter the other divisions providing the deer has not been entered in another division first. Deer entered into the Youth division are not eligible for any other division other than the conservation division.

Prizes - Champion and Runner-Up by highest total point score for each division. Prize packages for each division as listed in the 2008 NEFGA Buck Bash thread. Prizes won by hunters less than 18 yrs of age will be awarded to them only with the consent of their parents or legal guardian.

Member Voting - For scoring, each entry gets 1 point for each inch of antler spread and up to one vote from each member. Each member gets one vote per division where member voting is applicable.

Divisions outlined

Archery and Rifle divisions - Antlered deer only. Entry consists of two photos, one of deer, hunter and control item. The other photo is of control item, antlers and tape measure or ruler showed widest spread of the antlers in inches. Take clear photos. It's not what you say it is, it's what we say it is!!

Entries must be sent between the time the division entry thread opens and when the entry thread closes, which will be 48 hours after the end of these seasons.

For Archery season there will be two different control items, one for deer entered before the rifle season and one for after rifle season. Entries for the first part of archery season will close 24 hours after the end of that early part of the season. Entries will open again with a new control item for archery division entries when archery season opens again after the state-wide rifle season closes.

Rifle division is the Nov state-wide rifle season only. Archery division is both parts of the archery season.

A written narrative of your hunt must be submitted with your entry for the rifle and archery divisions. You may send the narration in later, but not after the end of entry time for that division.

Total highest points determines winner and runner up. Member voting for the Rifle and Archery divisions starts no sooner than 48 hours before the end of the season and ends no later than 24 hours after those close of entries for that division.

2008 NEFGA Buck Bash Muzzleloader and Youth divisions - any deer may be entered. Only one photo of the hunter, the deer and the control item need be submitted along with your hunt narrative.

2008 NEFGA Buck Bash Muzzleloader division is the NE statewide season starting December 1st.
Entries for this division from the NE state-wide muzzleloader season only.

2008 NEFGA Buck Bash Youth division starts Sep 15th and ends with the finish of the season choice units in January 2009. Any deer, any weapon. Hunters must be less than 16 years of age on Sep 15, 2008 in order to enter a deer in the Youth division. Hunters who turn 16 years of age on or after Sep 15, 2008 are not eligible for this division.

For scoring, each entry gets up to one vote from each member. Each member may cast one vote in the Youth division and Muzzleloader division.
Total highest points determines winner and runner up. Voting starts no sooner than 48 hours before the end of the season and ends no later than 24 hours after those close of entries for that division.

2008 NEFGA Buck Bash Conservation Division- all deer from all 2008 NE seasons are eligible. Each hunter gets one entry consisting of all the deer he/she wants to enter into this division.
One photo of the hunter, control item and each deer entered are required for entry into the conservation division. Limit of one deer per picture and one season narrative must be entered into this division. Deer entered in other divisions may be entered by the hunter into this division with the caveat that you may entered only 1 antlered deer for each anterless divison you enter into this division.

Each entered NEFGA member in the Conservation division will receive 1 point for each antlered deer and 3 points for each anterless deer entered into the Conservation divison. Highest total points will determine the winner and runner-up of the Conservation division. In the event of a points tie, the hunt narratives will be judged from those tied entrants by NEFGA Buck Bash staff and used as a tie-breaker to choose the winner and runner-up in the Conservation division.

The will be no member voting for points in the Conservaton division.

Actually any deer entered in any division in the Buck Bash may be entered into the Conservation Division, but it was called to my attention that some folks may start wackin' does on Monday and maybe would like to enter them into the conservation division only, so I made up a control item just for that division as well, but you can use your archery and youth control items, and later the rifle and muzzleloader control items to enter deer into the conservation division as well.
