Waiting.....put in as a buddy application this year. Hunted there every year till they did the drawing, even when you had to walk in, been denied ever since.

Well wife and I have not recieved a letter yet. Maybe thats a good thing? Might mean we are getting a key instead!

Gifford point wma despite being public property only allows access to 200 archery/muzzleloader hunters per season. Due to the high demand for the access permits a drawing is held for them every year. Since it is archery only till Dec when muzzle season starts BOW HUNTING IS ALLOWED DURING THE REGULAR FIREARM SEASON, which means.......bow hunters get to hunt what most consider the best part of the rutting period. Lots of good bucks in there, seen it first hand for years and even been with a few guys when they were harvested as well, I got pics of a 4x4 that went 170 ish from 1999 and it had a 26" outside spread, saw a 10x10 non typ tagged back in '94 too. Nice 6x5 and 5x5 taken by family that grossed 140's. Had many close encounters with giant bucks in that area and look forward to getting a chance to get back in there someday

I haven't got to check my mail yet, but hopefully, I have a key in the mailbox when I get home tonight! A friend of a friend called the Game and Parks and supposedly there were 273 people who applied this year and at the time they were stuffing envelopes, this was last thursday or friday.

Thought I'd put in for one in case all the private ground access around Omaha we have doesn't come thru. Probably won't use the key but it's nice to have just in case.

Sorry Alex but I have always had a problem with this, people that put in just to get the key "In case" they don't get a place to go, When people who don't have a spot at all are getting left out all together and there are people out there with keys and they never even set foot on the place! 5 years in a row I have not drawn a permit while guys I know get them and neveer use them. Send it back if your not gonna use it.

Yes! I got my key yesterday! I'm a perfect 3 for 3 in NGPC drawings this year, I got a desota dec. muzzleloader, paddlefish, and now gifford key. Of course, the next couple of years I won't draw anything. I better make the most of it this year, I told my friend yesterday that I'm getting two wall hangers this year.
