For years I've never use any type of detergent on my hunting clothes. Once out of the wahing machine they go on the line to dry then placed in plastic for storage. Before the season I wash them again in water and vinager.

I really don't know how much good any of it does really. As far as scent goes, probably not much. There is no way to be completely scent free. Good lord there are a lot of gimmicks to make a person think you can be nowdays. The vinegar is interesting, might switch to that. I figure all these might help, but really believe it comes down to wind direction, not bringing a strong/out-of-the-ordinary scent and sitting still.

I'm with Obert on this. Try to stay scent free and play the wind. I've always wondered about cover scents. Can't see how they would/could work. Aren't you just adding a second smell to your human oder. Kind of like the guy at work who doesn't shower and puts on a bunch of aftershave.

Walk in cow poo...check!

Wash clothes and seal up offseason with Cedar boughs....check!

I use that HS "Scent Killer" clothes detergent and body/wash shampoo.

I've been known to not put my hunting clothes on until I've driven to my hunting area and then put on clean uns and put my hunting garb on over that.

I've used some of that spray scent killer as well. I think it works a bit.

But you still always gotta play the wind.

I think it was Roger Raglan on a vid one time said he doesn't think that human urine scares deer and that he and his wife don't make any real effort to cover it up or avoid "going" near their deer stands.

He's got a barn full of book deer. I don't know.
