Well, Hawken, how would you run an on-line, statewide, mutli-month, multi-season, potentialy multi-species contest?

We really don't have the format in stone yet with the seasons starting still a ways out yet. We're working on it. As always, we've asked for suggestions and we've gotten a few that were really helpful.

So your'e gonna give away a knife in the youth division that isn't supposed to be purchased by anyone under 18??

Surprised Cabelas is cool with that. Doesn't really sound logical but ok.

You're correct, Alex, sorry. Duly noted. I suppose in some cases we should just withhold the knife and assume that the kids parents had their youngster dress out the deer they entered with a popsicle stick. I don't know how we could have been so shortsighted. For everyone else, we'll do like we always do if they win and they're under 18, we always expressly invite their parents to be present when they pick up their awards so that they can judge the appropriateness of the dangers and hazards that come in to their life such as the internets and circle hooks.

Whoa, deer season starts in less than a week!! You guys and gals been practicing with your bows? Got all your stands up? New batteries for the camera?!

That will be most important as you'll want to get pics of your deer up on the 2008 NEFGA Buck Bash!! You can find a list and pictures of the proposed prizes from Cabelas right here in this thread and then there's also a sticky for the rules in the hunting forum as well.

We've got divisions for archery, rifle, muzzleloader and the division that is generating tons of interest now, the Conservation Division. (ooh, I think many, many does will end up in the freezer this year, I can't wait)

Take a look at the rules sticky for the Buck Bash in the hunting forum and post any questions you may have here.

I'll have a control item for you to print out put up on Thursday night, so you'll have all weekend to get it printed out.

The archery and youth divisions for the Buck Bash will open up with the start of seasons on September 15th. This is a FREE contest!! Is this the best forum in the world or what?? On some other forums, you have to pay entry fees or buy some lame "premium membership" package to enter their contests, but not here!!

Again thanks to Cabela's for their support of the 2008 NEFGA Buck Bash. We've tried to make it a little something for everyone!! So get ready, get out there, get a deer and get it in the NEFGA Buck Bash this season!!!
