Question trail camera problems

I'm having some problems with my trail camera. I set it out on monday, and just picked it up this morning. It had 112 pictures on it, and all of them where the exact same thing. I've never had this problem before. The time stamp and date thing is wrong on the pictures, but i'm sure they aren't more than 5 or so seconds apart between pictures.

Here's picture number 57

And here's picture number 91

Every picture looks like that, all 112 of them. Any idea's why this is hapening all of a sudden? I've never had this happen before.

Are those branches setting it off or is there a switch to regulate sensitivity of movement or anything like that?

I guess I didn't think about the branches moving in the wind, but i've had it out with a few branches in front of before and never had this.

It's the only thing I can think of, I can't imagine you'd have deer running by 151 times and missing them.
Though
the branches look in the same spot on both pics, I don't know what you have going on. Odd deal.

I was pissed when I found this one too cause a buddy of mine that also archery hunts had found a shed in the shelterbelt behind where I had the camera. He rough scored the one side he found, and if the other side was identical to the one he found it would have scored 175. I was hoping i might catch a picture of that buck.

Could the grass in the bottom right and bottom left hand corners maybe be what was setting it off? I wouldn't think it would be quite that sensitive but maybe?

i moved mine to overlook a bean corner that has absolutely no obstructions. I want to go check it tomorrow to see if its trippin, but i think ill just wait a week or so and hope its working....so frustrating. if it does it again, im gonna set if up in my yard for a day or so where i can control it more.

I plan on doing the same. Hopefully it was just the branches or grass and not something wrong with the camera.

That white fluff from cottonwood trees? It's heavy this year. Or birds? Are there barn swallows nearby? Just thoughts.

No barn swallows are present in the area. I think obert is right, it's probably the branches on the top of the picture or the thick grass in the bottom corners. After going through all the pictures, you can see that the grass and the limbs are in different places on a lot of the pictures.

I would try it in house on the pet, if you have one, or your self. If that works fine. Try it in your yard pointing east for the morning, south for the afternoon, and west for the evening. Make sure it is a sunny day, to see if the sun is activating it. I have had this problem in the past, very frustrating. Now, I try my hardest to have the cameras set up, facing north. Some people don't have problems with multiple triggerings like that, but I did, and it was from the sun. I can't think of one time that I have had that problem with a north facing camera. But I can think of multiple times while facing south or east.

Also, maybe try slightly elevating your camera and point slightly downward, if you have to face it south or east.

It is expecially frustrating if you have to drive any distance (mine is 70 miles) for a memory card full of branches or grass . Everytime I put a camera in a new spot, I get nervous that that is going to happen .

hope this helps you out.

Oh yea, and I would trim those branches too.

Now that I think about, it was facing south, that could be the problem. I checked it in the house on the dog and it is working fine, so it was either the brush or the sun. I'll try facing it north and clearing out the triggering area next time.

Luckily for me, I had set on our land, where I go out to work every morning, so it's not too big of a deal since I go out every morning any way. I just wish I would have got a picture of that buck.

Last week from fri afternoon till sunday afternoon I got 599 pics on my cam and all but about 6 were of nothing. I don't know what did it except the sun. It is facing west. but it was also doing it in the morning. Now after hearing about all of yours doing it, i'd say it was UFO's or something, did ya have any spots up in the sky?? I'm gonna check it again on tue to see what happend this week.

Now that I think about it, I'm sure it was UFO's, or possibly a chupacabra?

Sorry BP, that was me. I found your cam and waved my hand in front of it 112 times...

Okay, maybe not. But my best bet is a Sasquatch is messing with you.

Just drove by my cam, 28 pics since I put it out Th evening. Really wish I had a viewer on the cam. Was very tempting to take it back home with me to see what the 28 pics are, but I'll wait til next weekend to bring it in.

Buy another card ans just swap it out when you check it. That way it's always set and you can bring the pics home.

Then do you just use a digital camera? I've got a Wildview camera and have to take the whole thing home and plug it in, it says in the directions to not put the card in a digital camera. At least I thought that's why I didn't do it that way, I'm going to have to dig out the directions again.
