moultrie cam. question

With a couple of my moultries (i think these are the ones with the flash) I'm getting a lot of pictures where the screen is just all white. Any ideas as to what could be happening? The date/time is wrong in the pic. but i think it might be when the camera is flashing during the day.

my moultrie is sensitive to direct sunlight..even light thru trees can knock it off. ive learned to deal with it somewhat if i want it pointing a certain direction. i figure my card holds over 4000 pics so i can deal with 10 or 15 pics a morning or evening if thats the way i want it pointed.

Its pointed directly north so i dont think that would be directly into sunrise/set would it? In some of the pics. you can see deer that triggered the shot, maybe I'll call the moultrie customer service.

I've had a few of those too, and in my case the camera was not pointed east or west. It seems most of the time it is the first picture taken in the morning. I'd often wondered if it had something to do with the flash being used when it wasn't needed.

What model of Moultries do you own? You don't happen to own an I40 or I60? That was a common problem with the I40/I60 when it had the old software on it. The new software can be downloaded from moultries website to help out with that. But its definitely the flash going off when its not needed.

I usually have a couple of these on my stealth cam also. The time stamps say they are all in the morning, so I think it's when the camera can't decide wether or not to use the flash, and when it does use it the pictures turn out just like yours show.

That does make sense, I get the same thing with the digital home camera sometimes.

I had a couple like that this weekend, don't know what caused it, but then again something was all screwed up. From fri night till sun afternoon I had 599 pics and 580 were of nothing. It was takeing a pic every minute to 5 min, sometimes it would wait a 1/2 hr, but still took pics of nothing.

Sometimes, (althought doesn't look like one of them) depending on the height of your camera, a deer could be too close for the pict if they are walking buy. Once in a while you can depict a nose or tail something to tell you it was an animal.

You may want to consider elevating your camera and aiming downwards slightly, that way the angle of the sun is not as direct.
