Default heading to bassett

me and my dad are heading up to bassett this weekend to do some turkey hunting. Im wondering what kind of turkeys there are there. Is there a good population of Merriams?

your going to have to go farther west to find merriams. You may find some crosses there but no pure merriams.

We have toms with pure white in the tails to chocolate instead of the white. You see the same colorations all the way west to the Pine Ridge so you either call them merriams because of where they are or we really don't have pure birds anywhere in the state. There are a lot of turkeys but right now the weather is crappy today.
