Default 2008 NEFGA Ice Fishing Event Picture/Reports

Was able to make it out w/ many others from the forum this morning to Wehrspann. It appears a good time was had by all.

The morning started off pretty slow w/ a few bites here and there. Things really picked up between 11:00 and 2:30 when I left. I ended up w/ 26 crappie (three keepers) and most other people were in that neighborhood, too.

Here are some pics I took.

It was a good time. Ended up with 1 catfish and 2 crappie, 9 inches and 11 inches. Not bad for some who drills a hole and prays... There are several forum members who really know there stuff as far as ice fishing is concerned.

The temps were great and it was nice to meet a few of you guys.

Nice to see some old friends this morning and put faces to screen names for several more! (Mako, you're taller than your avatar. )

Default outing

It was a good day. Not as many crappie for me today. Had 4 just under 10" and a number of nice gills. The fish were definitely on the move today.

It was great to meet some of you. Look forward to meeting you all again soon.

I am going to try to make the tie in as well.

DREW! did you move out where Deas, and Redefiningfate and steal their spot to get your other 2? .

Definatly great to see everyone make it out there, and put face with names, I am more excited to make it out to other events in the future.

So, which ones weren't great to meet?

Good times... the 'gill bite really picked up after you left Magnus. A few crappie straglers, but nothing big though.

OBG and Dad O., both of you were a lot taller than I thought too! I guess I thought that older people were shorter for some reason. Just as OBG thought Japanese people were shorter I guess.

And if I'm not mistaken, it was Tone who first went and found the crappie. Then everybody came and then started to go further and further west.

And LL, you weren't so great to meet because you wouldn't show up!

Dude, you just stumbled into a giant holiday tin of mixed nuts that is the nefga forum.
We will barely notice another two.

Unless you are a brazil nut.
Everybody notices those giant chunks of grossness.

So, welcome aboard and don't be shy.

I wish that I didn't have to work in the morning. I was planning on getting there sooner than I did, but nice to meet some new guys and see some of the old faces again. And yes the gill bite really got going that last hour of light. We caught about 30 or so and one small crappie.

It figures I show up from 8:30 til 10:45 and the fish start hitting at 11:00.
