Thumbs up Ice fishing pics!!

I've added the pics I have from the 2008 NEFGA Ice Fishing outing at Wehrspann to a photo album. Check it out! There will be video coming shortly!!

The pics that come up on the page are just thumbnails, click on them to get a full-size pic w the caption!

Did you know that all forum members can create and share your own photo albums ?

Check it out under your "My Settings" tab! It's a piece of cake!!

Thanks to everyone that came out!! It was so cool to meet everyone !!

We had between 45-50 folks come out at various times throughout the day. Around lunchtime we had about 35 folks out on the ice from NEFGA.

Dad O., if I'd known you were going to be there, I'd have hung around to meet you. Havasu get too hot for you in January?
I had to go to a funeral or I would have been there earlier. Sorry I missed you and the rest that left early. Did get to meet quite a few members, and like I said didn't fish just lied to the bunch. We came back to spend Christmas with all but one of our kids that live here. Will be leaving a week from Monday (14th) Am looking forward to some of that heat. We have had some nice weather since we've been here.

I'll give credit where credit is due...tone's back to back crappie and a picture perfect "fall on his arse hookset" were what got me/us off the channel. It was my 400 yard tipup that kept us going west though!

Didn't that place look like a flippin minefield with all those 10" holes everywhere? I was gonna fish today, but the poor auger needed a rest.

Wasn't Tone's slip a classic? And yeah, you definitely found the best holes! And made the best too.

By the way, I heard last night that you made that auger? That thing was nice!

To say I "made" it would be a bit over-dramatic. I took a power head for an earth auger and put an new auger with ice bits on it. It was pretty tough, with the loosening of nuts and removal of 2 bolts, then putting the new shaft on. lol

His slip was great...I loved how he tried to laugh it off like it was no biggie, he even got the hookset in, but I bet he was icing his hip when he got home.

That was pretty awesome. Too bad Steve couldn't have got that on camera!! That would have been priceless.

Default Photos/vid from Saturday

The photos I have are up in an album for everyone to see. (Did you know everyone on the forum can now make their own photo albums to share? You can do it under "my settings". Need help? Just ask!!)

I had a little issue with the video, but we'll get it up here later in the week for sure. I have it, I just was having trouble gettting it into the computer yesterday.

Thanks again to everyone and a special thanks to Fish Recycler who supplied the hand warmers to us. We'll need those another day, I'm sure!!

and a big Thank you to everyone who bought NEFGA stickers from me on Saturday out at the lake. If you still need some or you missed me for that, please drop me a PM and we'll get you set up!!

It's too bad that we can't add comments to the photos in the albums. Who should we ask about adding something like that?

Just got a few pics Dolomite sent to me from the outing. We kind of got setup a bit away, had tipups set out so didn't wander around too much but met some members. Alot of action early, dead period in the afternoon, picked up a bit at dusk.

Overall got a mess of gills whcih seemed to be the only thing hitting, most in the 7 inch range. Only landed 5 crappie, 4 bass, and one dink eye.

Dolo, first fish of the day

Small bass

Biggest crappie of the day (11 inches)

Only eye of the day

Wow - looks like it was a great time out there. What awesome weather!

Glad the fish cooperated.

I should give the props to Grabber - they're the ones who provided the handwarmers, they just did so by way of Recycled Fish.

I'll have a report up in the next couple days on what I was doing instead...

Default A few more pictures

Well, this was my 3rd outing on the ice. It was my first time rigging up my own stuff... maybe that is why I didn't catch anything.

It was my wifes first trip out on the ice. She had a good time... not sur eif it was enough to get her hooked. At least she caught some fish!

A big thanks to Magnus and Deas for sharing the holes and letting the hotspot rub off on my wife a bit. Here are a few pics from my end on Saturday.

Drew's cat on a waxie!

Tony's fair-weathered crappie

Danielle's first fish thru the ice!

Here other fish broke off at the hole... exciting catch!

Thanks for all the great times! I had a blast meeting y'all and putting names with faces! JT, thanks for the grill! Sorry the buns sucked bad... oh well dogs are dogs!

Look forward to it again!

Scott

Had a great time with Vex Lugar and the endless supply of gills in that one hole. Would have been nice to have a tip go off during our time of deteriorating. RIDE!

Just want to let you all know it was great meeting all of you at the forum ice fishing get together 1/5/08. I know I missed many who were there before 11:00 and after I left at 12:30pm. I will try to make it for the next forum fishing meet to do some fishing with all of you.
