Default Equipment Rating Request - Berkley HMG Rods

Anyone used Berkley (Finwick) HMG casting rods? How do they compare to your other sticks?

Thanks.

I've got a 7' Medium action Fenwick HMG with a revo and 15 lb. powerpro. It's probably my favorite bass rod for throwing 4-5" senkos and horny toads. I just rig it with a 5' floro leader joined to the main line with a blood knot and a 4/0 Gama. hook. Super light and sensitive. No matter what I'm fishing for it can usually be found in the boat. From what I understand Fenwick is dropping the HMG line so there could be some deals out there right now.

"Absolutely great product. I fished with the rod matched to a 5.1:5 Quantum reel this past weekend and could not have asked for a better match and balance. My next purchase will be a Fenwick given this experience."

"I bought the rod to fish with frogs at Clear Lake. I am impressed with the strength of the rod as well as its light weight. I plan to also fish under weed beds and know the pole will be able to pull a bass up through the cover."

Fenwick HMG GC 56M Casting Rod, November 12, 2007
By Pintail62 from San Diego, CA

"This is the fifth Fenwick HMG GC 56M Rod I have purchased. I have used them for Bass at the Colorado River, in Southern California lakes, and four trips to El Salto in Mexico. This is an outstanding rod; easy to cast various baits, great action, and has a very sensitive feel. If I were to use only one rod, this would be the one."

I don't think they will part ways with any of the HM series rods since they are Fenwicks most popular rods. I am getting a order together for some HMX and Elite Series rods.
