Default Fly fishing class

I attend UNL, and found out there was a class for credit on fly fishing. Needless to say I made my schedule fit around it. I have always wanted to learn to fly fish, and I figure what better way to spend my student loans and actually learn something I am passionate about. In the course description it says that there are mandatory weekend events in order to pass. They are really going to have to twist my arm to get me to go fishing for a grade. Just wondering who all fly fishes out there, and maybe suggest some decent spots around lincoln. Of course, I wont have much use for this information now, but I got pretty excited and now want to know more about fly fishing.

Anywhere there is water and fish is a place to flyfish. There are a few guys that are fly guys here, myself included. Need anything specific, just shout.

youve got holmes on the south side of town, bowling in airpark, lots of other small ponds Im sure you could find a way to get on in lincoln.

you ca fly fishing salt creek and the creeks that run into the salt and catch carp gar catfish bluegillsall kinds of stuff on the fly, There is an abundance of walleye in there too. Ive had best luck on nymph patterns fishing deep.

when spring rolls around and i got the basics of fly fishing, i will definitely be making some posts and seeing if anyone wants to go fishing and give me a few tips at the same time. i hope to start a trend for a few of my buddies and keep the fly fishing art moving through the younger generation.

haha. i didn't mean to say that everyone that fly fishes is old, just that it seems as most kids my age are not into fly fishing, hell for that matter it seems that most kids are a little out of touch with their inner outdoorsman.

Hey, I'm a Junior at UNL and was looking to take that class too. You'll have to let me know how it is. A buddy and I are probably going to take it next spring since it didn't fit either of our schedules this year. I laughed when it said "required weekend activities" or whatever too, they don't have to twist my arm to hard for that
