Default Beautiful November Day - What do you do?

With last weekends beautiful weather, and more of the same coming up this weekend, what are your plans? I think I'll skip the massacre that will be the husker game and be outdoors.

Since my deer tags are filled, I'm going fishing! Heading up Gavin's Point and maybe swing by Grove Lake on the return trip. One last trip for the season.

Even on a not so beautiful day it's still fishing for me.

My perfect day: duck hunt from sun up till about 10am, go home and grab some lunch and a maybe quick nap, at noon grab the rods and go try for some nice crappy and whatever else would like play untill about 4pm, then go grab the clubs for a quick nine before dark. And finally, get home by 7pm in time to watch the Huskers beat Oklahoma. Is this heaven, no it's Nebraska.

Well, I tried to occupy the wife by suggesting she attend the BOW deer processing event "how to cook like a wild woman" but then learned she has to work!

So, it looks like a fishing trip with my bro to celebrate his birthday in the morning, then it's off to the OU/NU game with my dad in the evening. I'm sure there will be honey do in there somewhere, but I'm not asking!

I'll be at work Fri, Sat, Sun. There are far too many things that need to be done in the fall of the year. Though, next week will put me in South Park for two days, then around Salida for two days.

Last weekend I complained about not fishing the whole time I was doing yardwork. The truth is though, I slept in on Sunday morning and I could have used my time better and been able to get out at least for a little bit.

This coming weekend I'll be in Portland and Seattle, but not fishing. (And yes, it's a great time to be chasing salmon and steelhead and searun cutthroat trout up there.)

I usually would've been hunting if I lived back in Nebraska, but since I've moved to Mississippi, its fishing season year round baby!! Everyone else is in the woods this time of year and I got the water to myself. My shotgun and bow have been collecting dust for two years. I have a difficult time going hunting when I know theres some good fishing going on. Same with winter in NE, as soon as we had ice, the shotgun went up for the season.

I think fishing will definitely be on the agenda this weekend.

EDIT - Oops...forgot. My cousin's wedding in Cedar Rapids. Jarred will not be fishing on Saturday either. See you there dude.

Lets see. Work from 7:30 till noon. Do a little house stuff. Watch the game. Drink a little, maybe too much. Sunday comes along. Concentrate really hard to come up with something new and unique to get my wife mad at me. Keep pressing the issue until she says "why don't you leave". BAM Permission to go to the lake. Mission accomplished.

Last week I told her that we needed a camera with a faster shutter. When she asked why I said "so I can get a picture of you when you are not talking". I got permission to go to the lake right then and there.

Hunt in the morning, fish in the afternoon and wrestle in the evening.

I usually refer to that as my "trifecta" The older I get, the less often it happens.

I'm jealous. Salida is a beautiful place; sweet flyfishing opportunities up that way. For this weekend, both fishing and football. I'm gonna see the Air Force vs. Army game and see if I can hit some streams near CO Springs along the way.

with this last ditch warming trend,w here would a channel cat fisherman look for fish this weekend?

Lets say your on a big sandy irrigation reservoir that is pretty low right now.

Would you look for shallow north shore flats, or would go where the wind is blowing? Or, would you try to find both?

just askin.
