Default Ice Fishing Shelters

I am headed to Omaha today and plan on looking at Ice Shelters... Am I correct that the only place I will find them are Scheels, Cabelas and bass Pro Shops or are there other places?

From my internet surfing I really like the Clam Denali II...

Thoughts???

If there is a Menards near by...they sell em, I got mine at the Rapid City store...you won't find the top of the line Ice shelters there...but I've enjoyed mine. Good luck

Well I made the trek to Omaha and back! Had a great time visiting Scheels and Cabelas... I decided on the Clam Denali-II and I think I will get it from Cabelas! I will wait for a Cabelas Club Card discount to come in the mail and then make the trip back for it...

The Denali-II is $499.99 and the Denali-IIII is $549.99...

I was hoping to Get a $100 off of a $500 purchase coupon with my Cabelas card around Black Friday and use my Cabelas points to get it into the $300 range...

also, you can bring 2 stadium seat cushions and set them next to each of the 2 seats and fish 4 people if you wanted... The Denali II is very versatile!!! They do have a 2 seat adder kit for the Denali II to make it a IIII also!

If you buy one from Cabelas between Nov. 15 and Jan. ? you get a mail in for a free LED Light/Fan; it's a $25.00 value...

The height is one downfall! I am about 6'-2" and I did have to hunch over a bit... The poles ride in a slot and can be adjusted all the way to there max height. I will likely do this with mine...

I was thinking the same about the 2 extra seats in the Denali-IIII... But after my family of 4 all crawled in the Denali-II and sat in it; we decided that bringing a couple stadium seat cushions would do the trick for the rare occasion that more than 2 go fishing... I really like the trays beside each seat in the Denali-II for holding an extra pole, a soda, wax worm puck, pliers, scissors and such...

I have to go to the bathroom, whats this? whats that? will you bait my hook? those wax worms are gross, is it time to go yet? how can you stay out here all day......... ;>)

Do you still have that gas hose to hook a Mr. Buddy Heater to a 20 lb. tank?

I bought a fish trap voyager replacement tent directly from the clam corporation (6x8') for $50 (light house, lets light in), built my own sled from plywould and two by fours and used black abs pipe from menards (with elbows and all) for the poles (pvc pipe cracks at below freezing, abs doesn't become completely brittle until -40degrees). Bought velcro at the walmart craft area to extend the velcro fasteners in the tent (since my poles were bigger diameter than the metal poles it comes with) and bungies to hold the poles together. I just piece it together, takes about 10 minutes. It weighs less than a voyager and costs less than $150. It doesn't flip over but all I have to do is partly take it down (the part that goes over the ice), and slide it to a different spot. You wouldn't know that is wasn't a real voyager once it is set up. They also sell the suitcase style tent replacements but they were $75. You could build a complete floor then but it would be heavier since my sled is only 6' by 40". I am not a shop type guy, never took shop in highschool and had no problem. It helped that you can download the schematics for the huts at the website also. Its kind of hillbilly but it is sweet.
