Is this ( Richard Mill) A lake that was designed for trophy largemouth that people would come down a PAY to stay there to try to get a world record callibur largemouth at? I seen a tv show a little over a year ago about a private pond like a resort kinda thing that there were developing in S. Carolina or N. Carolina... You hear anything about this bruce? I wonder if this is the same place?

Here is some information on the current management program.

Feeding Program at Richmond Mill Lake | The Ultimate Bass Fishing Resource Guide® LLC

Quote:
How in the world should you effectively feed 7,000 pounds of feed trained bass and 125,000 bluegill in such a large lake?
That was the problem of the day.
The solution seemed simple enough. Feeders, lots of them.

Sounds very possible.

This is 130 acres, so it's a pretty good sized lake. I probably only fished about 5 acres of it in two full days.

If you consider what people pay for a guide, meals entertainment on overnight lodging at say, Great Wolf Lodge, or something like that, it could be a bargain. I'm not certain about what they actually charge, but I'm chomping at the bit to get back there.

There is some consideration being given to a big bluegill tournament. All catch and release with no culling. Bring the fish in to the weigh-in ASAP, then let the bluegill go.

I can only imagine the eyebrows that would be raised by a ten fish limit of bluegill weighin in at 18 pounds. There was a B.A.S.S. championship held a couple of years ago near Pittsburgh that ten bass would have weighed 12 pounds.

Thanks, Shorty!

I just want everybody to realize that I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea. I just know that I was grateful to have a couple of days of relaxation, and catching insanely big bluegill. Every once in a while we'd be interrupted by a 5 pound bass however.

The fights are excellent! We were catching them all on ultralight rigs with 4-lb test. I would have used 2, but I think they would have snapped me off.
