Cabelas after hours tonight...

Were any of you at the Cabelas after hours deal tonight getting the employee discount? A friend and I drove up and WOW, what a zoo... It felt like Black Friday at Walmart...

I did score a couple ice fishing poles, lures, line, ice dipper and a few other things... The Employee discount worked the best on Cabelas brand items; otherwise it was 5% to 25% on everything else...

I went to the Sidney store Saturday, as I had one of the "employee discount" cards, and it was a complete madhouse. I have never seen the place so busy. I waited almost 20 minutes just to check out. Rude people everywhere... I too felt like I was at Wal-Mart on Black Friday.

But I did get a few good deals and some Christmas presents for my wife!

I went up there, absolute zoo. It looked like at least a hour+ in the lines, decided my time was worth more than what the discount was and left.

I went to get several Christmas presents. The items for which I was looking were only available in the catalog, so I picked up a few things, waited in line for thirty minutes, and paid my money. The discount, Fish On, was, indeed, not worth it. You were all the wiser for not waiting.

Yikes, It a good thing my dad and I didn't go. We didn't know what the employee discount was so we called cabelas and they said 5-25% off, which I thought was kinda of dumb, we figured that we wouldn't get much of a deal on what we wanted so we didn't go and from what you guys are saying Im glaf I didn't.

I was frustrated with them not having stuff in stock too... I wanted 2-4 of the Cabelas XML Ice Fishing combo's and they said it was online only... I ended up getting a different Cabelas combo that I never got to research... We never even made it to the food line... When we hit the front of the store our decision was food or check out... I do have to say that I was happy I got the discount, used $10 off coupons and used up all my gift cards... I did have a pretty healthy savings on what I did get...

I was wearing a green waistline coat that said BIG VALLEY on the back in bold white letters, since I don't know what any of you look like; did you see me? I was hoping to run into a few members but no such luck...

We need NEF&GA hats or something...

you guys are braver than I. I don't think there is anything I hate more than a crowded store and shopping. I don't ever have any money to spend and I'm probably a schmuck for not taking advantage of these sales, but I'd rather pay full price then enter an environment like you all are mentioning. No sale is worth that IMHO. Especially a 5% one.

just depends what you got. i got one of those inflating pfd's for my dad for christmas. normally $100, I think it was $69. also got seat covers for my new truck, normally $110 and they were like $80. didnt think that was too bad. did buy another tip up though, and I think it got like $.70 off it...haha. got a husky floor liner for my back seats. normally theyre like $65-70, and after the half off auto things in the bargain room I got it for $14! definetely not complaining on that one.

Went to Kearney Saturday morning and not bad at all. Did not use my employee card though. Had some $10 off coupons so those got used.

I was going to go to Sidney and buy my shotgun, but they didn't have one in stock and the guy I talked to said the discount would be like 2%-3%. Then he said they'd be on sale in a few days and would be a better deal than the discount anyway.
