Ice fished Wehrspann this weekend and caught a ton of fish. Caught a ton of crappie(too many to count) most around 9-1/2" with the biggest around 13-1/2", a couple keeper gills, a lot of nice catfish, 25, 24, 22 and some between 15-19", a few short walleye, the biggest at 15". had a few other really nice fish on that came off at the hole as well. would've taken more pictures but my camera died.

Here's a 24" cat

a 25" cat that i could barely fit through my 6" hole

same fish

11" crappie

15" eye

Great weekend to be out on the ice and hopefully we'll have a few more.

Congratz! Was that the only eye you caught.

It seems like you catch one a trip and thats it.

Looks like fun.
What were the cats eating? At Prairie View last weekend people were using liver.

the 15" eye was the biggest, had a couple 12" and a few 8". as for the cats, we caught them all while fishing for crappie with a jig and waxie, it was a lot of fun catching those cats off of 4lb and 6lb line and ultra lite poles. i was gonna try some cutbait off a tip-up but it was still frozen, maybe next time.

Great looking fish!!!!! I live 1 block away from wherspan and have not once fished it. I will drive one to two hours away trying to catch cats like that in the thick of catin season and I am one block away from those beauties you pulled out. Great fish, I love the pics. especially this time of year, I dont do the ice so I have to be satisfied with infisherman magazine and pics like yours.

Nice mess of fish, guy. Good work. Can you tell any difference in the taste of catfish now compared to the ones you catch in warm water?

YES!!!!! They're notorious for carrying a cold water disease(I think it's called Barfalotous(sp?)) that infects the 'meat'. I wouldn't eat any.
