Anyone been out lately?
After not filling my tag opening weekend, due to the fact that all I could catch were slot fish, I decided to try one more time on Friday evening as I was in Norfolk for a pheasant hunt the next day. Anyway, I had never been up to Gavins this late before. It was kinda nice. Very few snaggers, even LESS boats, and really the snagging was excellent. Got there about 4:30 and tagged my fish at 6:35, so I cut it close, but I had 9 fish on in 2 hours, but only managed to land 4. They kept getting off, not sure why. I kept a 32.5" fish and landed the biggest paddie I had ever caught up there. A 43.5" fish that prolly weighed about 30-35 pounds. |

Way to go! We were going up on Sunday, but other half got sick, wouldn't have been much fun for her. Maybe in a couple more years!

Went with my sister, dad and guide last friday to watch. They snagged around 60 spoonies. I tried to walleye fish off and on. Managed 1 cat and 1 39" spoonie in the mouth. That was fun on 8 lb test line. Sister snagged one with a tag in the lip. Great time, great friends, geat drinks. Can't wait til next year. Sherm,
