Walleye fishing around Lincoln is tough anytime of the year. Stagecoach or Wagontrain could be your best bets. I would try minnows under a slip bobber off the dam or jetties with deep water access.

I sometimes do fairly well at east twin lake in the fall. Just remember that walleyes like to feed on steep dropoffs in the fall. On lakes in eastern Nebraska that usually means fishing on the dam.

I have as well, almost all have been legals up to 19 inches as well, all while bass fishing. I am guessing I have C&R'd atleast 20 this year. With a strong wind in your face, just fish into it and you'll do fine.

Here's probably the most information I'll give out. East Twin is out because it's closed to fishing why they let bowhunters there and not fishers is beyond me?

This rain will cool the water down to about 52F. We lost about a week of shallow water fishing for walleyes.(and wipers) The next sunny warm day will bring the water temp up maybe 4 degrees during the day. That will get the shad(and other baitfish) active again and that evening is when you want to hit the dams with a #13 rapala( not just for the spawn snaggers ) or Shallow Shad Rap in a #7 or #9 for bigger fish. If your after eaters stay with the #7. Before you hit the dam in the evening you can go off points next to deep water (including jetties) and work the ledges with a 1/16OZ darter bass tube jig head tipped with a BIG minnow. You may actually use a Fl. Yellow 3" tube also just to mix it up. Pay attention to the midge hatches and you'll find the shad. A little saying " shad in the bay during the day mean walleye at night" Fish slow and close to the edges and you'll come home with some fillets. I would also say Pawnee has better numbers of eating size walleye plus the white bass will help pass the time until you can work the dam maybe even start on the mud flat North of the dam. Stagecoach/ WagonTrain has some good `eyes also but the shad numbers are real high to compete with.

Keep us informed

I forgot about east twin closing in the fall as I haven't been there in a few years. my bad. Also, very good info Andrew. That was hands down the most informative piece on fall walleyes fit into a paragraph that I have ever read.

Fished Pawnee from 2pm to 6pm yesturday but no luck. The Night before I caught a small one but at lease I was getting bites. The wind was coming form the north west or south west that night. Yesturday the winds were southeast so I think that messed everything up.
