azrc3s9, first and foremost.... Welcome to the NEFGA! There is loads of knowledge to found here.
Bowling Lake is slated to be stocked with 300 trout sometime this week. Nebraska Game and Parks Commission - Fishing Guide - Stocking Reports is the link for the stocking report posted by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission Alex

Last time I was by there it was about half full I think......I remember seeing it after they were done with the North side & had it deeper................It may take a while for that lake to rebound but I wouldnt see any reason why they couldnt put any trout in it since that lake was not very deep to begin with.............all I know is that the South side of the main lake was not touched......however......the SW adjacent relief pond was dug out as well so that may be a good area to access but think it might pose a risk opf people parking right off NW 48th just to get on it easily.........I have done it from there too but it can be hazardous with traffic going by at 45-50mph............unless the city decides to reduce the limit there...............Otherwise they did open up some parking a bit on thr East side by access road. |

I drive past Bowling Lake about 5 times a week... and its ALMOST full. Lots of submerged weeds now. It might be hard to coax the fish out of the cover, but in the next year or two that lake should be FANTASTIC!

According to the Nebraska Game and Park Commission-fishing stock shows NGPC just stock 400 trout(Arlee) 10" into Bowling Lake. So I went out there and checked out around 5:30pm today but didn't see any sign of trout biting or jumping on the water like at Holmes Lake. I saw couple other peoples out there but I guess they didn't have any luck either. Although, the water is full but didn't see any sign of trout or anyother kind of fishing biting at all.
