If forced to be armed with only one lure for all of your fishing, which would you choose? A spinnerbait, bucktail jig, plastic? It would need to be something a variety of fish would take in a variety of situations....what say you?

i would hafta go with a bucktail, most species will take a jig and you can control the action to match the bait you are trying to imitate. i would probably choose white as well and a medium size taking into consideration average prey size and castability...

They are all just different tools for different jobs. ![]() But, having said that, I have also said that any fish that swims can be caught on some type of jig. 1/16 oz chart Road Runner tipped with a 2" Yamamoto Senko. (2" no longer sold in the USA as of 1/1/2008).
Either that or nightcrawler.

I also think the "ultimate lure" would have to be a 2 inch white twister tail grub. You can catch lots of different species with this lure

It would be a hard choice IMHO between a Mister Twister curly tailed grub and a Red Devil...but if forced to choose...the grub.

great thread, made me think.
I'd go with a 3 inch watermelon , or pumpkin seed gulp sinking minnow will catch anything in the water
