Default Lincoln/Omaha area Ice fishing Tourney

I was recently on the Nebraska Game and parks website looking at the ice fishing section. Within the section there is an area for ice fishing tournaments. Well, after clicking on the link it seems there are no fishing tournaments scheduled and or their HTML script is screwy. Whats the deal with this? I've never looked here before and was wondering if in fact there are ice fishing tourneys this winter in Southeast Nebraska?I know that Ice is somewhat unpredictable around here so do the competitions just pop up when the ice comes around or what? Perhaps an ice fishing tourney should pop up on this forum? Anyone second that? It could get some anglers into a type of fishing they haven't tried before. Plus I'm getting anxious to use this guy!

Bass-Assassin,
I know last year the forum put on 2 ice fishing outings that i know of, one at Whershpan and one at Wagontrain. While they weren't tournaments it was a good way to meet a few new people catch some fish too. Stay tuned. I'm sure there will be similar outings this year!

P.S.
You should have stopped by Scheels and checked out Hummingbirds new LCD Flashers! They are AWESOME!!!

Vexilars rock! I am looking at getting a FL-20 Ultra pack. Just have to find the best deal on one!

Yeah I read about the Humminbird flashers. They sound like pretty good machines. I wish I would've seen um last year before I bought mine. They have like 6 colors instead of 3 don't they?

yeah its got the 6 color flasher display. After playing with it for a while it seems to be simpler and easier to read than the Vexilars. I love the digital depth display and the indicator line that you can set at the exact depth that you want your jig. Thats awesome!

Bass Assasin, I have a feeling that if you were to keep your eyes out, there might be an association that will put on an ice fishing contest....

Sounds good. Looking forward to getting involved with any type of ice fishing contest/meeting. Ebp, sorry Grove lake is a little out of my range but it sounds like a blast.

We've got two hummingbird LCD flashers. The Ice 45 is 399.99 and the Ice 55 is 499.99. With the Ice 55 you get the 6 color display and the carrying case. The Ice 45 only has 3 color LCD display, like the vexilars.

We've got both models on display. You can come on in and actually mess around with them and see what you think!

Went and checked out the Humminbird flashers at scheels. They are nice looking machines. Larger display than a vex or marcum plus the digital readout of the depth. Would have probably considered buying one if i didn't allready have the vex. Looks like the humminbird 35 is going for $299. Not bad price plus it has zoom.
