Dear Forum: The 14th was my wife's birthday and I was out of town for work. SO.. I scraped the ice off my windshield at 0200 hours and went night fishing under the bright moon! It was a wonderfully crisp and clear evening with steam wafting off the lake. I whipped out my casting rod and started working the bottom deep and slow, pounding the base of the rock piles with my multi-bladed spinner. The strikes started to come slowly and them in a flurry. I had to finally quit from the exhaustion of catching 6 LMB's. I returned to my room for a nap. At about 1100 hours I awoke in my room and decided to do it all again in broad day light. Much of the same process only success came rapidly with a 20" LMB. All the action had made me incredibly hungry so I packed up and left for some lunch. After eating I just couldn't resist a third time. Something about that lakes water, I just couldn't get it out of my mind! I couldn't stop thinking about it no matter how hard I tried. The weather had changed to windy, cold and rain but there was nothing that could keep me away. I had to do it again! I returned around 1300 hours and started pounding the rocks like I had done twice before. Once again I was rewarded for my efforts. The lake was giving up it's treasure! After 6 more LMB's I returned to work satisfied, cold, wet and tired. It was a day I will always remember!!
I caught 6 of these ![]() 6 more of these ![]() 1 of this
