Default Goofing off at W

I woke up early this morning knowing that it was suposed to be windy, but still had hopes of wipers and big mamma's going through my head. It was decided that that trip was not to be as 30+ mph gusts and boats were not the best combo.

I eventually decided that I had to get some fishing in today so I headed down to W. Started pretty slow, but did end up getting into a school of crappie. Caught around 20 crappie, two small bass and one golden shiner..... I think. Two of the crappie went over 10", with one bigger than those two but flopped in the water before I could tape it, so I'm gunna call it 17" (ok, it was most likely 11" or so....)

golden shiner right?

There was also a crap load of black coters on the lake, and several mallards cruising around the shallows.

Nice golden shiner! I haven't caught one of those in decades.

If the crappie that got away was 17+, the two in your pic's must have been at least 19-20.....

Judging by the size of the fish....I would say that it looks like the girls did not make the trip.

Have not had much time (other than a couple of hours with the boy on Saturday night) to chase them yet.

However, there has been quite an entrenchment of "non forum folks" too busy fishing to cruise the interwebs that are taking them to task. (Based on my "polling" during the business card passing out phase).

I am sure the girls can dig up their limits if the weather plays along. I would assume you will be bringing the cooler? -- Oh yea, and something to put the fish in as well
