Default Anclote Fort DeSoto and Anclote

Vern Williams called me earlier in the week to set up a trip, it seems his sister and brother in law were going to be in town for a few days. They had decided to do something different, so they went fishing with me, go figure!
Different was what they got. Vern and his brother in law Coy are in their mid 70's so a half day trip was all they wanted, our first stop produced non stop reds for about an hour and a half mostly over slot being bass fisherman they said over and over how they could not imagine catching bass like this much lees 10lb fish after 10lb fish, we finished off the day catching trout and macks . I would estimate we caught about 40 or 50 fish . they have already called to schedule another trip for November.

and for all you superstitious ones they had and ate bananas all morning!

Friday I was one of the guides for the Eckerd Collage alumni tournament, we went to an area I had caught them before and they were ready to play we had about 40 bites and caught 30 fish most were just at or over slot fish we managed to find some small trout but no snook Ryan , Gordon and Sylvia all got their biggest or first red fish or both!

Saturday I had a trip With Pete Amato ( inthedrink) and his neighbor George. Pete had helped set up the trip , a surprise for his buddy's birthday. we got a couple of small reds out of mullet schools early, then we went for the big boys and they were ready to play tug of war , other than the slot fish early all were too big. We also managed to get some nice trout after the reds quit playing. thanks for the refferal Pete, I had a blast!

Pete's biggest red

George's biggest

In three days we boated numerous reds ALL on cut bait, I put 7 people on either their first red fish or their biggest or both , and that's why I love what I do!!!!!!!!

This is why I hope to entice you into a barter, high end custom firearm for trip deal someday. Thanks for the post that keeps firing us up.

Captain Tim:

I've got to be honest with you. Nothing "irks me more" than to turn on a Bass Fishing show only to have the Star out on a "free trip" due to their TV Show, in the Salty Flats or Off Shore.

If Babe or Roland want to go on vacation, fine. Just leave the camera at home. What's next? Bill Dance catching "Pea**** Bass" in Venezuala with Commie Chavez?

Unfortunately for me, your posts and the great pics have got me doing some serious thinking about considering a "salty" adventure!

No, I still don't want to watch Babe and Roland "in the salt", but I am finding myself watching the Redfish Tour shows, and a few others.

It's safe to say that YOU are to "blame" for that!

Harold,
Sorry for bringing you in on the addiction!!! Next year look for me on the redfish tournaments on TV also look for me on ESPN and possibly the learning channel as in the next couple of weeks I will be filming a couple of shows. A salty life has been a great one for me, I too was a die hard bass fisherman and was lured away by the pull of the sea and back to my roots, I became almost enchanted ( due to lack of words to describe my thought) by the immortal words in the old Jimmy Buffett songs ( not from songs you know by heart, the old stuff) I know find myself dreaming of skinny water and spooky reds tossing flies and getting the look, the one that makes you think he will eat, the concoction you have put together. It's a Skinny Water Culture, gotta love it!!!!!!!!
Tim

Man look at all those redfish. Tell some of those guys to be around in March this year. That trout in the 2nd looks really big, how big was it?So was that ladyfish that is in cooler dinner for the reds? BTW my stomach still hurts from seeing Gaffigan this weekend. Keep the pics coming.

He's good!
The lady fish was for the reds, and the trout was almost 25 inches!!!
