Does anyone know if the trout were dumped in today? I sure hope so, atleast by sometime tomorrow! I have Tuesdays off from class and was hoping that they would be in by tomorrow so that I can get out and get a few before it becomes impossible.
I don't know what it is, but after a couple of days of the trout being stocked, I can't even get one of those slimers to bite! Anyone stake out Holmes today? ![]() Troy |

Just got back from a walk out to Holmes. They have the net up below the bridge with the floaties on top of the net holding it up. There is a sign by the dock that says that THIS AREA IS DESTIGNATED AS A YOUTH AREA. Also says that adults can be present but if you are over 15 you can't fish there. Says that it is in effect from October 10-April 15. I am guessing it is just that little cove around the boat ramp but am not sure. I did hear some splashes around but not sure if they were trout, couple loud splashes in the south basin had to be large bass or cats, scared the crap out of us. Beings that the youth area takes in effect Friday, I am guessing that is when they are going to be dumping them in, but who knows, maybe they already have as I did here those familiar splashes on top of the water and the net is ready with the floaties. Could be other fish though. Just thought I would let everyone know. Thank you's are welcome for my trouble

You can catch them on crawlers and power bait but When they stock the trout I use a small roostertail or panther martin. the past years I have been using a #1 roostertail and got plenty of trout but I think a #0 or #00 would work best. Good luck.
