Big Johnson: If you PM me we can connect sometime this winter to ice fish. Pick a lake you know that I can fish in the summer with my Lund, In return we can ice fish and I would love to assist in being responsible for teaching you some of my bad fishing habits!! Would be happy to get you started with a few pieces of starter tackle as well. Craig

I got put in charge of my dive shop's Polar Bear Club this year, so rather than sitting on top of the ice, I'll be swimming around under it a few times this winter.
If any of you drop anything down those fishin' holes in the ice that you want back before ice out, let me know. I'll see if I can help you out.

I ice fish when we have ice and a hunt deer, mz mostly now.
I used to do a bit of squirrel and rabbit hunting too and a ton of pheasant hunting. I'd like to get back in to that a bit. A hog hunt is at the top of my list now as is getting a spring turkey here in NE this next year. Oh.. and I'd like to actually call and shoot a coyote. I tried some last winter, but only saw one and I think I already frightened him with my calling !! |

Watch fishing shows. Plan fishing vacations for spring, summer, and fall, and watch some college football and basketball. Also if there is any can't live without new fishing lures or baits that come out I may pick up a few of those. Also clean and organize the tackle to see if I need to get any replacements from lost or damaged goods.

That right there just might be the best quote since Sam went home. Oh, and there is no off season. There is always open water somewhere. (I'd try ice fishing, but I have enough trouble getting the fly where I need it with all open water.)

I agree...what off-season? In between a few winter fishing adventures I usually clean and re-grease/oil all reels (Christmas vacation is perfect), tie new spinner rigs, clean and organize the tackle bag, buy new tackle, and probably the funnest...coach basketball
