Default American Bass Anglers 2009 Season Opener

American Bass Anglers
District 59
First tournament of the 2009 season is:
Sunday, October 5th 2008
Mozingo Lake - Maryville, MO
7am - 3pm
Prelaunch meeting at the City Ramp at 6:30am
Entry $70 (+ late fee at ramp $5)
You must be a member of American Bass Anglers
Can join at the ramp or online ($25 annual)
-----------------------------
The full 09 schedule should be available shortly -
Anticipate events next year on 3-Mile/12-Mile/West Lake/Mozingo
Should be around 7 events total.

The ABA Draw Trail is NOT a team event.
It is a bring-your-boat-use-your-boat format.
Non-boaters ARE welcome and will be placed on boats by a draw at the morning meeting.
------------------------------
The ABA Draw Trail is a points based tournament series. Your four highest finishes are counted towards your total points. With a year-end 2 day District Championship. Finishing in the top 200 of the Midwest Region will allow you to attend the Midwest Regionals (Barkley Ky this year). Finish in the top 50 of Regionals and you'll go to a no-entry fee Nationals (Guntersville, AL this year).

It's a great trail and organization that I have been fishing for a few years.
If you have any questions, post them, or PM me - or contact the Tournament Director: Terry Cooper (712)382-0081

ABA website: Welcome to American Bass Anglers (888)203-6222

(ABA runs several different trails - this one is the Draw Trail version)

Are non-boaters guaranteed a spot if they sign up with a boater?

Tony -
No linking for these one-day Draw Trail tournaments. If you bring your boat, you get to use your boat.

We average maybe 1 to 4 non-boaters at our events with anywhere from 12 - 25 boats. A non-boater will not have a problem finding a ride!
They are randomly paired with boaters during the morning launch order draw.
There is no separation between boaters and non-boaters - entry fee is the same and everyone is fishing against everyone else.
It's a great way for someone without a boat to get tournament experience. Also a good way to keep you in the points race if your boat ends up in the shop over a tournament weekend.
And if I recall correctly, several non-boaters cashed big bass and placement checks this year.

Is there a chance the Huskers will head south next Sunday?
It'd be great to have you guys.
(it is a late game against Missouri on Saturday though, you going to get enough sleep to fish a tournament on Sunday?? )

I can always sell my ticket to pay for my entry fees! I will talk to a few guys and see if they want to fish the tournament.

There is a good possibility that one of the Husker Bass Anglers will be there.
