Do all parties in a boat need to have a paddle fish tag if some of the people in the boat are snagging (those with tags, obviously)?
My friend and I drew tags, and a third would like to go on the trip, but doesn't have a tag. I know in some states all parties in a boat need to have a valid tag, but don't see anything in the regs for NE. Obviously the third would not be snagging for paddle fish. Will we run into problems having someone without a tag in the boat? I just want to be sure so I can let him know what the deal is before we go up. |

Shouldn't be a issue as long as he isn't snagging.

We were told last year that only persons with tags could cast, snag & reel in the fish. Anyone could "net" the fish, hold it for pictures and/or release it. I would contact your nearest officer to inquire first. There should be plenty of them at Gavins when you're up there...Art
